The Role of Social Media in Maintaining the Intimacy of Long-distance Relationships among Young People——Take WeChat as an Example

将亲密关系的维系放置在微信环境中进行考察发现:微信通过聊天界面、断连方式、产品定位以及产品设计风格四个方面塑造了一种平等化、低稳定性、理性的交流沟通环境,从青年用户群体的使用体验来看,通过微信这一工具所获得的情感体验是理性的,对亲密关系区分度不强,有时还会带来关系边界模糊的困扰。微信在维系异地恋亲密关系过程中必不可少,但作用有限,亲密关系双方应理性把握。

After the investigation of the maintenance of intimate relationship in We Chat environment, it is found that: Wechat has created an equal, low-stability and rational communication environment through four aspects: chat interface, disconnection mode,product positioning and product design style. From the experience of young user group, the emotional experience obtained through We Chat as a tool is rational, the distinction between intimacy is not strong, and sometimes even brings the confusion of blurred relationship boundary. WeChat is essential in maintaining intimate relationships in long-distance relationships, but its role is limited,and both sides of intimate relationships should grasp it rationally.
