In the face of environmental problems caused by waste, Shigeru Iwasa, a contemporary Japanese Marxist scholar, from the inevitable connection between environmental damage and economic activities, has explored the construction of an environmental protection circular society aiming to achieve sustainable development. He established the concept of “symbiosis between man and nature”,put forward the premise of “environmental protection first”,and pointed out that ecological socialism is the fundamental way for the construction of a circular society. This concept of environmental protection first and recycling society construction has important enlightening significance for us to deeply understand the internal logical relationship between economic development and environmental protection, realize the harmonious co-existence between man and nature, and promote the construction of socialist ecological civilization with Chinese characteristics.
