Last month,a herd of 15 wild Asian elephants entered Jinning district in the southwestern outskirts of Kunming,the capital city ofYunnan province.China Daily reported the elephants had arrived in Yuxi city,only 20 kilometers outside the capital,and an elaborate defensive campaig n was underway.
