When I was a proper journalist at a wire service supplying news to Australian papers,this was the time of year we d have to write(or;in trade language,"churn out")articles called Year-Enders.These were carefully considered,wonderfully prosaic,literary master-pieces we would all try very hard with,and which would grace[or"fill holes in"]the nation's papers during the quiet news days of the Christmas period.
