摘要
莫言小说《生死疲劳》中的前景化语言在刻画人物性格、突出人物社会地位等方面有着不容忽视的作用。葛浩文在翻译时为达到其翻译目的,在处理前景化语言时,采用了保留前景化、去前景化和创造前景化翻译策略,最大限度地还原了小说主人公西门闹这一人物形象,其翻译策略对于文学翻译中如何忠实传达人物形象具有一定借鉴意义,也为中国文学“走出去”提供了参考。
The foregrounded language in Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out plays an important role in depicting the characters and highlighting the social status of the characters. In order to achieve the purpose of his translation, Goldblatt adopted translation strategies of retaining foregrounding, eliminating foregrounding and creating foregrounding. He tried his best to restore the image of Ximen Nao, the protagonist of the novel. The translation strategies are significant to faithfully convey characters in literary translation and provide a reference for Chinese literature to go out.
