Continuity of Urban Heritage with an Expression of Time: Postscript to the Design of The Inlet

20世纪二战后,大部分亚洲城市以相对落后的基础建设为起点进行城市建设。在全球化发展的背景下,城市人口与功能性变更幅度大,市政建设、道路、街区尺度翻倍扩张,战前的城市布局难以支撑现代化发展,导致城市文脉出现大量断层。经过战后近80年的发展,无论是步履蹒跚或是急速超前,各大亚洲城市都经历了新与旧的碰撞、争论乃至共存。

Most Asian cities after the World War II faced a similar challenge,needing to quickly upgrade obsolete infrastruc-tures in the face of exploding population growth.From transportation nodes to streets and city blocks,cities grew in scale exponentially,leaving the traditional urban grain unproductive in the face of rapid globalization.
