俄罗斯英语教材文化呈现研究

Representation of Cultures in English Textbooks in Russia

呈现什么文化、如何呈现文化是外语教材建设的重要议题。本研究以俄罗斯2021年出版的两册高中英语教材为研究对象,对其文化呈现进行量化统计及质性分析。研究发现:不同地域的文化呈现强度由高到低依次是目标语国家文化、共有文化、俄罗斯文化和国际文化;文化类型多样,以文化产品为主,其次是文化实践、文化人物,文化社群和文化观念较少;呈现方式上,教材注重文化语篇的呈现,文化理解练习较多,文化表达练习未受重视。

The content and forms of cultural representation have become important issues in the development of foreign language teaching and learning materials.The present study made a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the cultural representation of two English textbooks for Russian senior high school students published in 2021.The findings revealed that,in terms of Gross Cultural Representation(GCR),the target language culture is represented most,followed by area-not-specific culture,Russian culture,and international culture;cultural categories are diversely represented,with cultural products represented most,followed by cultural practices,cultural persons,few cultural communities and cultural perspectives;in terms of forms of representation,the textbooks pay more attention to the representation of culture in texts,and GCR of culture represented in the exercises entailing understanding is much higher than that in the exercises entailing expression of different cultures.
