Objective To explore the influence of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing on blood glucose control effect in elderly diabetes mellitus(DM) patients. Methods A total of 300 elderly DM patients admitted in our hospital from January to December 2019 were selected as the research objects. According to different nursing schemes, the patients were divided into routine group(150 cases, routine western medicine nursing) and combined group(150 cases, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing). The nursing effects of the two groups were compared. Results After nursing, the levels of fasting plasma glucose(FPG), 2 h postprandial plasam glucose(2 h PG), glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c) and fasting C-peptide in the combined group were lower than those in the routine group(P<0.05). After nursing, the whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity(PV) and packed cell volume(PCV) in the combined group were lower than those in the routine group(P<0.05). After nursing, the scores of each dimension of the Diabetes Specific Quality of Life Scale(DSQL) and total score in the combined group were lower than those in the routine group(P<0.05). Conclusion Integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing can effectively strengthen the effect of blood glucose control in elderly patients with DM, reduce blood viscosity and improve the quality of life, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
