“普利全川”:《劝桑说》与近代四川蚕桑业发展

基于“普利全川”的情怀,四川三台人陈宛溪完成了科普性文本《劝桑说》的刊印和推广。该书内容通俗易懂,既是陈宛溪个人蚕桑知识的集成性作品,也是劝课蚕桑的优秀范本,它不仅在推动四川区域植桑知识的通俗化、植桑活动的普及化、植桑技术的程序化等方面有重大贡献,而且又与《湖蚕述》《蚕桑谱》等蚕桑文献一起加速了近代中国蚕桑业从传统自然经济向近代工业化生产的转化。

Based on the sentiment of“Benefiting the whole Sichuan”,Chen Wanxi from Santai,Sichuan completed the publication and promotion of the popular science text Quan Sang Shuo.The book is easy to understand which is not only an integrated work of Chen Wanxi’s personal sericulture knowledge,but also an excellent model for persuading people to do sericulture.It makes a significant contribution to promoting the popularization of mulberry planting knowledge,popularization of mulberry planting activities,and programming of mulberry planting technology in Sichuan region.In addition,together with such sericulture documents as Hu Can Shu and Can Sang Pu,the transformation of modern Chinese sericulture from traditional natural economy to modern industrial production was accelerated.
