在现代城市快速增长的语境下,关于现实与模拟之间日益模糊的边界的讨论愈加激烈。让·鲍德里亚从美国超现实的现代城市、自然及社会景观之中感受到了现代媒体的力量和沉浸性,以至于他所提出的超体现实已经成为真实。本文尝试将这条思路继续推进,将空间的尺度和时间的维度带入关于改革开放时期中国城市建设的讨论。

The rapid urban expansion of modern cities has sparked intense debates about the blurred boundary between real life and simulation. The surreal modern urban, natural, and social landscapes coming out of America had made Jean Baudrillard ponder the power and immersiveness of modern media, so much so he claimed the hyperreality has become real. This article is trying to push that line of thought further, taking in the element of scale and time, arguing that the tools that the US used to build itself have been borrowed at an even larger scale and faster rate in China during its Reform and Opening era.
