卫生工作对工业生产发挥着重要的保障作用,新中国成立后,面对建设先进工业化国家的目标追求,保证广大工人的身体健康进而保障工业生产的顺利进行无疑是国家卫生部门的重要工作。1954年开始在全国国营和公私合营厂矿大范围推广的车间医师制契合了这种需求。车间医师制要求厂矿医务工作者深入工人生产、生活一线,及时发现、调查各种致病原因,对患者进行系统防治,凸显了“预防为主”的卫生工作方针。车间医师制的实施取得了良好效果,有效保障了工人身体健康、提高了工人的劳动效率,为实现“卫生为社会主义经济建设服务”的目标发挥了重大作用。
