Bursaphelenchus xylophilusis an international quarantine pest. The pine wood nematode disease caused by it has caused a devastating disaster to the pine forests in the invaded countries. This paper summarized the strategies adopted by Japan, the United States, South Korea and other countries to control pine wood nematode disease,including making laws,reasonable management and protection,strengthening quarantine,and establishing buffer zones. The specific control technologies,including physical,chemical and biological control,were introduced. These control strategies and technical measures provide a reference for the control of pine wood nematode disease in China.
