On Passive Revolution and Geoengineering

作为应对气候危机之技术方案的地球工程蕴含绿色资本主义的意识形态向度以及技术万能论的技术向度。从消极革命视角看,地球工程在物质层面上是为了缓解资本主义的第二矛盾,即造成气候危机的生产关系(及生产力)与生产条件之间的矛盾;它在政治关系层面上则是为了强化自由主义霸权;而在军事层面上则是为了维持全球军事霸权。我国应对气候变化的社会主义生态文明建设是超越地球工程的理想方案,理由有三:物质层面上,社会主义生态文明建设坚持人与自然气候和谐共生的生命共同体思想;政治关系层面上,社会主义生态文明建设强调以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义经济学思想为指导应对气候危机;军事层面上,社会主义生态文明建设追求应对气候危机的总体国家安全观。

As a technological solution to the climate crisis,geoengineering embodies both the ideological dimension of green capitalism and the technological dimension of technological omnipotence.From a passive revolutionary perspective,geoengineering is,at the material level,about alleviating the second contradiction of capitalism,namely the contradiction between the relations of production(and productivity)and the conditions of production that causes the climate crisis;at the political level,it is about strengthening liberal hegemony;at the military level,it is about maintaining global military hegemony.China's socialist ecological civilization promotion for addressing the climate crisis is an ideal solution beyond geoengineering,for which there are three reasons.At the material level,the socialist ecological civilization promotion adheres to the idea of a community of shared life with harmonious relationship between human and the natural climate;at the level of political relations,the socialist ecological civilization promotion emphasizes Xi Jinping's idea of socialist economics with Chinese characteristics in the new era as a guide to address the climate crisis;at the military level,the socialist ecological civilization promotion pursues comprehensive national security to address the climate crisis.
