Intellectual Narration of Brothers

《兄弟》是知识分子叙事的典型文本。作品塑造了两类知识分子形象:一类是生活在“孤岛”中挣扎固守知识分子本位的宋凡平、宋钢们;一类是生活在乐园中徒有虚名的伪知识分子赵诗人、刘作家们。他们在特定年代真实的心灵嬗变,既折射了物欲时代之于知识分子的压抑和扭曲,也反映了知识分子自身信仰的脆弱。小说的知识分子叙事尤为新颖,采用“反英雄”化形象的塑造和戏谑笔调,让文本在规避知识分子这一宏大主题带来的沉重感后,不仅刻画出欢笑背后当代知识分子生存的艰辛,还体现了作者对这一现状的悲悯,对当代知识分子独立人格和思想的建构有一定启示作用。

Brothers is a typical text of intellectual narration. This work creates two kinds of intellectual images: One is Song Fanping and Song Gang who live in the “isolated island” and struggle to adhere to the intellectual standard;the other is the pseudo intellectuals such as Poet Zhao and Writer Liu who live in paradise vainly possessing an empty name. Their real spiritual evolution in a particular age reflects not only the repression and distortion of the materialistic age to the intellectuals, but also the fragility of their own beliefs. The narrative of intellectuals in the novel is particularly original. The “anti-hero” image is created and the tone of banter is adopted. After avoiding the heavy feeling brought by the grand theme of intellectuals, the text not only depicts the hardship of contemporary intellectuals’ survival behind the laughter, but also reflects the author’s pity for the current situation. This study has some enlightenment for the construction of independent personality and thought of contemporary intellectuals.
