Shared street is a design concept that allows vehicles, pedestrians, and non-motorized vehicles to share the same street space in order to encourage pedestrian activity.Ever since its introduction in the 1960s,this theory has been adopted in many countries and applied to the practice. This paper uses spatial syntax and multi-source urban data to analyze the mobility, accessibility, availability, boundaries and horizon of seven completed shared streets:Fort street(New Zealand),Bremer street(Germany),superkilen(Denmark),Zuiderbuurt(Netherlands),Exhibition Road(UK),C.de Carretas(Spain),and Suzhou River Hongkou section(China).By using OSM data and streetscape data, the current usage status of these shared streets was analyzed and usage evaluation results were collected. This paper compares the differences in spatial perception and safety between shared streets and normal streets, and on this basis, concludes the design methods of shared streets that are conducive to improving safety from the aspects of the setting of obstacles, the planning of hidden streamlines, and the hierarchy of street interfaces,in order to provide a reference for urban renewal and street renovation.
