Jiangmen School was founded by Chen Xianzhang as the beginning of Xinxue education i n the Ming Dynasty.As the patriarch of the school,Chen Xianzhang devoted himself to the teaching practice,leaving no materials summarizing his teaching theories and experiences.This research reviewed the perspectives of the Jiangmen disciples to examine Chen Xianzhang’s goal of being a teacher in the Tao teaching and governance to cultivate self-sufficient talents.In teaching,he acted like friends to deal with disciples as relatives,which exerted a far-reaching impact on the all-round growth of Jiangmen disciples.This way of being a teacher can provide profound implications for today’s teachers education and cultivation of excellent professionals.
