陕西西安长安区唐牛相仁墓发掘简报

Preliminary Report on the Excavation of Tang Dynasty Niu Xiangren’s Tomb in Chang’an District,Shaanxi

2003~2004年,陕西省考古研究院等对位于西北大学长安校区建设用地范围内的古墓葬进行了发掘。其中唐麟德二年(665年)的牛相仁夫妇合葬墓保存较好,为探讨唐高宗时期中下级官吏的丧葬制度提供了重要资料,出土墓志则为考证唐长安县义阳乡的地理位置提供了重要证据。同时,该墓还出土了目前所知年代最早、保存完整的三彩瓶,对研究唐三彩的发展演变具有重要价值。

The joint tomb of Niu Xiangren and his wife,which was entombed during the second year of the Linde Era(665 CE)of the Tang Dynasty was found inside the area of the Chang’an Campus of Northwest University and excavated by the Shaanxi Academy of Archaeology and other collaborative institutions.The discovery of this tomb provides new information for the discussion about the funeral system of middle-lower rank officials during the Gaozong’s reign of the Tang Dynasty.Since the inscriptions on the tomb epitaph indicate that the tomb is located at Yiyang in Chang’an county,the new information can also cast light on the geographical location of Yiyang.Meanwhile,this tomb yielded the earliest sancai polychrome vessel with date inscriptions that have been hitherto found,which is thus of great value to the study of the development of sancai polychrome ceramics in the Tang Dynasty.
