A Political Interpretation of Tomb-Destroying Phenomenon during the Tang Dynasty

唐代毁墓现象多见于史册和考古发现,其表现了诸多政治问题,如政治集团的形成,历史人物的评价,皇权对各党派的拉拢和打击等,是唐代政治史研究的新思路。本文通过对毁墓案例的梳理和解读,尝试分析其特征,并探讨引起毁墓之政治变动。

It is widely known in textual and archaeological records that tomb destroying activities occurred frequently during the Tang Dynasty.The destruction was mostly related to political struggles,including the rise of political parties,confirming the judgements for a historical figure,and the winning over or striking of various political parties by the royal authority.Therefore,the related phenomenon provides a new path for studying the political history of the Tang Dynasty.Through marshalling and interpreting various tomb-destroying cases,this paper analyzes their characteristics and the political motivation underlying the tomb destruction activities.
