Developing the Culture of the People in the Narrative of Chinese Modernisation

人民大众的文化是中国特色社会主义文化的核心要义与鲜明特征。中国特色社会主义文化源于中国式现代化实践,中国式现代化引起的社会结构变化奠定了中国特色社会主义文化建设的叙事语境,中国式现代化叙事体系要求中国特色社会主义文化面向人民大众,不断丰富人民的精神世界。西方式现代化作为人类文明发展进程中的一种现代化实现方式,带有明显的资本逻辑的意识形态渗透,必须警惕这种在资本逻辑主导下产生的“西方文化”对中国发展人民大众文化的消极影响。这就要求我们在建设与繁荣人民大众文化过程中坚持马克思主义指导、坚定人民立场、继承中华优秀传统文化,从而在满足人民大众精神生活的过程中培育人民大众的现代文明生活方式。

The culture of the people is the core essence and distinctivefeature of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics.Socialist culture with Chinese characteristics originates from the practice of Chinese-stylemodernization,and the changes in social structure caused by Chinese-style modernization have laid down the narrative context for constructingsocialist culture with Chinese characteristics.The narrative system of Chinese-style modernization requires the people-orientedness of socialistculture with Chinese characteristics and the continual enrichment of the people’s cultural lives.As a way of modernisation in the development ofhuman civilisation,Western-style modernisation carries with it an ideological infiltration.We must be alert to the negative impact of this Westernpopular culture,dominated by the logic of capital,on the development of the people’s culture in China.This requires us to build and nourish thepeople’s culture:adhere to Marxism,take a firm stand for the people,and inherit the best of traditional Chinese culture in order to cultivate amodern and civilised lifestyle through satisfying the cultural needs of the people in China.
