Standardized training for resident doctors(regulation training)is an important way to train general practitioners. The First Affiliated Hospital,Zhejiang University School of Medicine has innovatively established an upgraded scheme of navigated general practitioner training model(upgraded‘GP-S model’),and now this paper intend to conduct an empirical study of applying the upgraded‘GP-S model’to the North and South regions of China for homogenous training of general practitioners.Zhejiang Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were selected as the trail sites for the study. In order to explore the feasibility of applying the upgraded‘GPS model’to the North and South regions of China, researcher plan to use the SWOT analysis method. This paper analyzes the advantages of the pilot sites in terms of talents and resources, external technical and policy support, and the differences between Zhejiang Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. What’s more, the paper proposes strategies to address the disadvantages and challenges for enhancing the feasibility of conducting the empirical study about using the upgraded‘GP-S model’in the north and south regions of China.
