西方读懂中国“平天下”智慧与愿景的障碍及消解之道

Obstacles and Solutions of the West to Understanding China’s “Pingtianxia” Wisdom and Vision

要回顾中国当前“平天下”的智慧和愿景,党的二十大报告中有最集中、最权威和最凝练的表述,但是其中的微言大义并不见得为西方所理解。这种“理解赤字”在牛津大学历史学教授米特的一篇极具代表性的分析中国全球抱负的文章中就有很好的集中体现。鉴于理解和信任在国家交往中的极端重要性,文章将在阐述党的二十大报告中有关中国“平天下”智慧和愿景意义和内容的基础上,深入考察以米特为代表的西方思想界在读懂中国方面取得的进展和存在的意识形态偏差,并探寻相应的解决之道。

To review China’s current wisdom and vision of “pingtianxia”, the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China contains the most concentrated, authoritative and condensed expressions, but the words and meanings in it are not necessarily understood by the West. This “understanding deficit” is well illustrated in a representative analysis of China’s global ambitions by Mitter, a history professor at Oxford University. In view of the extreme importance of understanding and trust in international exchanges, this article seeks to deeply examine the progress and ideological bias in understanding China in the Western intellectual circles represented by Mitter on the basis of expounding the significance and content of the wisdom and vision of China’s “pingtianxia” in the report of the 20th National Congress, and further explore corresponding resolutions.
