During the period of the Republic of China, influenced by the reform of building materials, the demand for sea sand in Qingdao was increasing day by day, and the urban construction style and natural ecology had undergone profound changes. And under the drive of economic interests, the illegal mining activities can be repeatedly prohibited. Excessive sand mining has led to shoreline erosion, seawater backflow and serious damage to offshore farmland, roads and buildings. As a result, some villagers near the sand mining area launched spontaneous resistance to illegal sand mining. The multi-party game around sand mining reflected the importance of rational distribution of environmental responsibility and ecological benefits, and reflected the complexity of the relationship between human and nature.
