知识产权保护、全球价值链嵌入与技术创新的互动效应研究

A Study on the Interactive Effects of Intellectual Property Rights Protection, Global Value Chain Embedding and Technological Innovation

本文将知识产权保护、全球价值链与技术创新纳入统一的分析框架,阐述了地区知识产权保护、全球价值链嵌入与技术创新的互动机制,利用2000—2006年中国制造业企业进行实证分析。研究发现:(1)全球价值链嵌入程度越高的企业技术创新水平也越高,但随着知识产权保护水平的提高,全球价值链嵌入对企业技术创新的促进作用会逐渐降低,且通过了一系列稳健性检验。(2)异质性分析表明,知识产权保护水平提升对资本密集型企业、低融资约束企业、东部地区企业的全球价值链嵌入的正向技术创新外部性的削弱作用要分别小于劳动密集型企业、高融资约束企业、中西部地区企业。(3)在验证知识产权保护水平对企业全球价值链嵌入正向技术创新的外部性时,基于门槛回归模型,证实了知识产权保护水平提升对企业全球价值链嵌入正向技术创新的外部性影响是非线性的,存在一个倒U型关系,即存在单一门槛(1.5094)。低于门槛值时,知识产权保护水平提升对企业全球价值链嵌入正向技术创新的外部性存在促进作用;反之,则存在削弱作用。

This paper incorporates intellectual property rights protection, global value chains and technological innovation into a unified analytical framework, elaborates the interaction mechanism between regional intellectual property rights protection, global value chain embedding and technological innovation, and conducts an empirical analysis using Chinese manufacturing firms from 2000-2006. It is found that:(1) The higher the level of global value chain embedding, the higher the level of technological innovation of firms, but as the intensity of intellectual property rights protection increases, the promotion effect of global value chain embedding on firms’ technological innovation decreases gradually, and it passes a series of robustness tests.(2) Heterogeneity analysis shows that the weakening effect of intellectual property rights protection intensity on the positive technological innovation externalities of global value chain embedding for capital-intensive enterprises, low financing constraint enterprises, and firms in the eastern region is smaller than that for labor-intensive enterprises, high financing constraint firms, and firms in the central and western regions, respectively.(3)In verifying the externality of the level of intellectual property rights protection on the positive technological innovation of firms’ global value chain embedding, based on the threshold regression model, it is confirmed that the impact of the increased level of intellectual property rights protection on the externality of positive technological innovation of firms’ global value chain embedding is nonlinear, and there exists an inverted U-shaped relationship, i.e., there is a single threshold(1.5094). Below the threshold, there is a facilitating effect of the increased level of intellectual property rights protection on the externality of positive technological innovation embedded in firms’ global value chains;conversely, there is a weakening effect.
