The Lady in a History Photo:Zhou Shujing,an Artist Studying in the United States and Her Pastel Paintings

在近代中国西洋画的接受与传播上,色粉画都留下了印迹。本文以1914年庚款留美女画家周淑静的色粉画实践为中心,考察其把色粉画带入中国及与上海美专色粉画学科的建构相互融合的历史史实,对色粉画传入中国的不同源流加以考证,并为相关研究的疏漏提供补遗。

Pastel paintings have promoted the acceptance and spread of western paintings in modern China.This article focuses on the pastel paintings by Zhou Shujing,a female artist studying in the United States in the Boxer Indemnity Scholarship Program in1914,and examines the history of her introducing pastel paintings into China and facilitating the development of pastel painting as a major in the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts.This paper also researches different ways through which pastel paintings were introduced into China and provides information for omissions of relevant studies.
