摘要
在拉丁美洲地区,美国学校起步比较早,影响深远。一方面,美国学校让更多拉美学生有机会接受美国式教育;另一方面,美国学校加快了美国文化与拉美文化的融合,使美国的思想意识和价值观在拉美产生了巨大吸引力。通过对二战后美国在拉美办学的历史背景及特点分析可知,美国学校是美国全球布局的一支“隐性”力量,服务于美国的国家利益,有助于美国了解拉美国家的历史文化,维护全球霸权。
In Latin America, American schools started early and had a lasting impact. On the one hand,American schools have been a boon to Latinos, giving more Latin American students a chance to receive an American-style education. On the other hand, American schools have accelerated the integration of American culture and Latin American culture, making American ideology and values attractive in Latin America. By analyzing the historical background and characteristics of American schools in Latin America after World War Ⅱ, this paper shows that American schools are an “implicit”force in the global layout of the United States, serving the national interests of the United States, helping the United States to understand the history and culture of Latin American countries and maintain its global hegemony.
