"Forget the Motherland":On the National History Textbooks of Manchukuo

伪满国史教科书是为了配合日本在东北的殖民统治而建构出来的一套叙事,强调伪满有三千年独立史,“日满一体”,丑化中国,将伪满虚幻成“王道乐土”,这是日本政学两界共谋的产物。伪满国史最初是为了对抗中国史而存在,其使命是暂时的,日本最终目的是以日本史扩张为伪满历史教育的中心,令伪满国史形同虚设,借此规训东北中小学生形成日本认同意识,而不是为了达成伪满国家认同。伪满国史论述不仅改造东北青年的历史认识,而且对后世影响相当深远。

The national history textbook of Manchukuo is a set of narratives constructed to cooperate with Japan's colonial rule in northeast China,emphasizing that Manchukuo has a history of 3,000 years of independence.Advocating for the"unity of Japan and Manchuria",it ugly China and illusory Manchuria,turning Manchukuo into a"kingly paradise",which is the product of the conspiracy of the two circles of Japanese politics and science.The history of Manchukuo originally existed to counter Chinese history.Therefore,its mssion is temporary.Japan's ultimate goal is to expand Japanese history into the center of Manchukuo history education,invalidating the history of Manchukuo,to discipline primary and secondary school students in northeastern China to form a sense of Japanese identity rather than to achieve Manchukuo identity.The discourse on the history of Manchukuo not only transformed the historical understanding of the youth in northeast China,but also had a far-reaching impact on future generations.
