一般意义的革命文化是指中国共产党领导中国人民在革命、建设和改革实践中形成的,以革命理论和革命精神为内核,以社会主义和共产主义为奋斗目标的无产阶级文化。依据百年来党领导中国人民进行革命、建设和改革的不同实践情况,革命文化形成和发展经历了萌芽初生、逐渐形成、深化成熟、曲折发展、多元发展和勃兴新生等几个不同的历史阶段。革命文化具有革命性、先进性、人民性、民族性和开放性等属性和特征。

Revolutionary Culture is a culture with the theme of revolution.In the general sense,Revolutionary Culture refers to the proletarian culture formed by the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China in the course of revolution,construction and reform.Revolutionary theory and revolutionary spirit is its core and communism is its goal.According to the different practices of the Party leading the Chinese people in revolution,construction and reform over the past hundred years,the formation and development of Chinese Revolutionary Culture has experienced six different historical development stages:germination,formation,development,alienation,decline and reconstruction.Revolutionary Culture has such attributes and characteristics as revolutionary,advanced,popular,national and open nature.
