A Chronology of Zeng Xiaogu’s Contributions and Life Events

曾孝谷是中国早期话剧的奠基者之一。过去,学术研究对曾孝谷生平、家世以及他回成都后的戏剧活动较少涉及。本文依据民国时期报刊史料和学界已有研究,对曾孝谷事迹系年进行了粗略梳理,对一些重要的时间、事件进行了辑考,尝试厘清其思想变化之轨迹,并述及他对中国早期话剧与成都地方戏曲改良的贡献。

Zeng Xiaogu is one of the founders of early Chinese drama. Till now, his life, family,and professional activities after returning to Chengdu has remained a research gap. Based on previous research on historical records in the Republic of China, this article chronologizes Zeng’s life events and contributions, tracking down major events and dates. It also attempts to clarify the development of Zeng’s ideas and his contribution to early Chinese drama and the improvement of local operas in Chengdu.
