Red,Black and Ignorant was a tragedy created by the modern left-wing British dramatist Edward Bond for the 35th anniversary of George Orwell's death.Similar to Orwell's futuristic narrative in Nineteen Eighty-Four,the play sets the plot of the drama in the end of the world, depicting the crisis of the future human community under the cloud of nuclear explosion and totalitarian rule.By showing the ethical dilemma and ethical choice of the monster and his son,the play not only describes the destruction of totalitarianism to the blood community, the geographical community and the spiritual community, but also criticizes the destruction of totalitarianism to the life community. The whole play reflects Bond's inheritance and development of Orwell's totalitarian writing and critical thought.
