An Overview of Longshan Academy in Tingzhou Prefecture

龙山书院是汀州府著名书院,关于其创办时间,学界有多种不同的观点。就目前的资料来说,可以断定龙山书院在明代已经存在。其于清代存续的两百多年时间里,历任知府等官员高度重视,在书院的制度化规范化管理、书院山长及师资选聘、经费保障和使用都有明确的规定,保障了书院的持续发展。龙山书院是地方官办府级书院教育一朵绚丽奇葩,也为汀郡八邑培养了大批优秀人才。

Longshan Academy is a famous academy in Tingzhou Prefecture.There are many different views on the time of its founding.As far as the current data are concerned,it can be concluded that Longshan Academy already existed in the Ming Dynasty.During the more than two hundred years of its existence in the Qing Dynasty,officials such as successive governors attached great importance to the institutionalized and standardized management of the academy,the selection and recruitment of the academy's headmaster and teachers,and use of funds were clearly defined to ensure the sustainable development of the academy.Longshan Academy is a splendid oddball of local government-run academy education,and it has also cultivated a large number of excellent talents for the eight counties of Tingzhou Prefecture.
