摘要
拜厄特的批评思想涉猎小说创作与文学批评两个互为关联、相互交融的领域。一方面,拜厄特以叙事的形式呈现日常性、个性化和生动化人物的思考过程;另一方面,她以批评家理性的方式讨论艺术所应承载的伦理规则、政治取向和艺术的本体意义对创作的导引。在短篇小说《艺术作品》中,拜厄特将绘画艺术作品以视觉性文本的形式编织进叙事之中,强调小说文本与马蒂斯画作及其色彩观的互文关系,以及艺术作品与文化、身份的交织杂糅,进而以叙事为载体,思考文学文本如何以视觉性文本诠释艺术作品色彩、规则、联结的缺失。
A.S.Byatt's critical thought involves interrelated fictional creation and literary criticism.On the one hand,Byatt presents the mundane and personalized thinking process of the characters in the form of narration;on the other hand,she discusses the ethical rules,political orientation and the ontological meaning of art in a rational way.In“Art Work”,Byatt weaves the art works of painting into the story,emphasizing the intertextual relationship between text,paintings and colour theory,as well as the interweaving of art work,culture and identity.Based on this narrative form,Byatt reflects on the possibility for the visual text of the artworks to interpret the absence of color,regime,and connect in literary text.
