A Russian Masterpiece on the History of Russian Orientalism——Comments on A.A.Sissamutdinov’s An Overview of the History of Orientalism in the Far East

俄罗斯远东联邦大学著名学者А.А.西萨穆特迪诺夫教授撰写的《远东东方学历史概论》一书于2013年在莫斯科公开出版。该书内容丰富,记述了有关远东东方研究历史的独特信息。该书观点鲜明,见解独到,一是远东东方学是俄罗斯东方学的重要组成部分,并形成俄罗斯东方学的远东学派;二是远东东方学的最大特点是实践性,培养应用型人才与实践研究相结合;三是远东东方学不仅包括俄罗斯远东地区的东方研究,也包括在中国、日本、朝鲜等国被俄罗斯人(俄侨)所进行的东方研究;四是中国研究(中国学)是远东东方学的主要发展方向。具有重要学术价值,填补了俄罗斯远东东方学史研究的空白。

The book,An Overview of the History of Orientalism in the Far East,published in Moscow in 2013,is written by Prof.Sissamutdinov,a famous scholar from the University of the Russian Far Eastern Federation.The book is rich in content and provides unique information about the history of Oriental studies in the Far East.The book has distinct views and unique views:firstly,Oriental studies in the Far East is an important part of Russian Orientalism and forms the Far Eastern school of Russian Orientalism;secondly,the most important characteristic of Orientalism in the Far East is practicality,combining the training of applied talents with practical research;thirdly,Far Eastern Orientalism not only includes Oriental studies in the Russian Far East,but also Oriental studies conducted by Russians(overseas Russians)in China,Japan,Korea and other countries;fourthly,Chinese studies(Sinology)is the main direction of Oriental studies in the Far East.Therefore,it has important academic value and can fill the blank of the history of Oriental studies in the Russian Far East.
