“华夏族”正义

A Clarification of the "Huaxia

鉴于史学界对“华夏族”这一概念使用的随意性 ,本文提出了自己的看法 :华夏族从一开始便是一个复合概念 ,不是指古代某一部族 ;华夏族有其发生、发展的过程 ,至春秋战国时才开始用“华夏”作中国的代称 ,对远古的原始部族不能使用这个称谓 ;并分析了将仰韶文化创造者误认为“华夏族”的原因以及“华夏”的文化意义。

Considering the arbitrary application of the concept 'Huaxia' in the circle of historical studies, this paper puts forward its own opinion. The author holds that 'Huaxia' was a compound concept from the very beginning, rather than a certain tribe in ancient times, and that it had a process of emergence and evolution, and did not become China's alternative name until the Spring and Autumn Period. Also, the paper analyzes the causes of the wrong viewpoint that the 'Huaxia' created the Yangshao culture. Finally, the cultural meaning of 'Huaxia' is discussed.
