On the Relationship between Huangdi and Xinzheng

从最早的黄帝神话故事来看,中原地区是黄帝的责任区、根据地和大本营。新郑地处中原地区腹地,虽然以往文献没有提到黄帝与新郑的关系,但是,自从古人编造黄帝迁都新郑的故事以后,新郑便被人们当作黄帝最重要的故乡。历代新郑人奉祀黄帝,新郑成为举世闻名的黄帝故里。

From the earliest fairy tale about Huangdi(also known as Yellow Emperor,allegedly an earliest ancestor of the Chinese nation),the Central Plain region was Huangdi′s area of responsibility,base area and stronghold.Xinzheng was located in the hinterland of the Central Plain.Although the relationship between Huangdi and Xinzheng was not mentioned in the previous literatures,Xinzheng has been regarded as the most important hometown of Huangdi ever since the ancients made up the story about Huangdi moving the capital to Xinzheng.The Xinzheng people of all dynasties enshrined Huangdi,and thus Xinzheng became the world-famous hometown of Huangdi.
