敦煌写本《六祖坛经》校注拾遗

Additional Notes and Corrections to Dunhuang Manuscripts of the Platform Sūtra

在《六祖坛经》敦煌多个写本合校的基础上,笔者从语言学和佛学两个角度,对三段经文的八处不必校改之处进行了详细分析,对十五处不必校改之处进行了简略举例。笔者尝试梳理出校注敦煌本《坛经》的五条原则:一是尊重原本,能不改就不改;二是重视敦博本和旅博本;三是古本为校,新本为注;四是多参考《大藏经》;五是重视语言学的研究方法。佛教义理方面,本文首次提出两个重要观点:一是“如如化”源自《楞伽经》,非“如幻如化”;二是“定心坐”是“无慧之禅”,非“空心坐”。

Based on collaborative proofreading of three Dunhuang manuscripts of Huineng's Platform Sutra,this research makes a detailed analysis from the perspectives of linguistics and Buddhist theology of eight places in the documents that do not require correction,contrary to scholarly opinion,and provides fifteen additional examples of text that does not require revision.Comprehensive study of the Platform Sutra suggests five principles for proofreading and annotation of this document:(1)respect for the original text suggests that changes should only be made when necessary;(2)additional versions of the text held at Dunhuang Museum and Lvshun Museum should be used as reference material;(3)the ancient version of the text should serve as the base,while the newer versions are available as explanatory references;(4)explication of the contents of the sutra requires extensive reference to the Tripitaka,and;(5)proper attention to the research methods of linguistics will yield a higher quality of analysis.Finally,this paper puts forward two important viewpoints regarding the Buddhist concept of righteousness.Firstly,the word ruruhua(如如化)in the text comes from the Lenka Sutra and should not be confused with ruhuanruhua(如幻如化,"like a dream,like an illusion").Secondly,dingxinzuo(定心坐)refers to the doctrine of wuhui zhi chan(无慧之禅,"Chan without prajna")rather than kongxinzuo(空心坐,"sitting[in meditation]with nothing in mind").
