洛阳知县龚崧林陵墓立碑活动考论

An Examination of Luoyang County Magistrate GONG Songlin′s Erecting Mausoleum Monuments

龚崧林在洛阳担任知县期间,考证陵墓、画界立石,是其重要的政治活动。为陵墓立碑既是清王朝统治者对地方官员的政治要求,也是龚崧林的个人兴趣所在,饱含龚崧林对陵墓墓主身份不明、墓地被占为耕地的现状所产生的恻隐之心。龚崧林考证陵墓并为之立碑的结果虽不严谨,往往张冠李戴,误导后人,但其背后有着统治阶层巩固政权、宣传礼教、传承文化、凝聚人心的目的。

When GONG Songlin took the position of Luoyang county magistrate,one of his main political activities was to make an investigation to confirm the owners of the mausoleums and erect a monument for each.Erecting monuments for the nameless mausoleums was not only the political requirement of the Qing Dynasty rulers for local officials,but also GONG Songlin′s personal interest and it also reflected GONG Songlin′s compassion for the situation that the owner of the mausoleum was unknown and the cemetery was occupied as farmland.Although GONG Songlin′s investigation on the mausoleums and erection of the monuments was not rigorous enough and often misled later generations,it displayed the ruler′s intention of extensive propaganda of ethics,which played an important role in consolidating the regime,inspiring people and inheriting Chinese culture.
