修辞的伦理原则及其矛盾关系

Ethical Principle of Rhetoric and Its Contradictory Relationship

修辞是为了实现预定的交际目标而在语言文字上努力经营的一种语言活动。修辞的目的性很强,表达效果是其追求的终极目标。但是,修辞在追求其终极目标时,必须在“真”“善”“美”三者之间做好平衡,不能为了求“美”而放弃求“善”求“真”。只有正确处理好三者之间的关系,才符合修辞的伦理原则。在修辞实践中,“真”“善”“美”三者之间是有矛盾的,如何协调好这种矛盾关系,是修辞研究的一个重要课题。

Rhetoric is a language activity performed on language and writing to achieve predetermined communicative goals.Rhetoric has a strong purpose,and the expression effect is the ultimate goal.However,rhetoric must strike a balance among“the true”,“the good”and“the beautiful”in the pursuit of its ultimate goal,and should not give up seeking“the good”and“the true”for the sake of“the beautiful”.Only when the relationship among the three is properly handled can it conform to the ethical principles of rhetoric.In rhetorical activities,there is actually a contradiction among“the true”,“the good”and“the beautiful”.How to coordinate contradictory relationship is an important issue for the rhetoric.
