As a communication technology with optical fiber as the transmission medium,optical fiber and cable communication technology is the key technology for the development of the country and society.It has advantages that other forms of communication technology can not match.If the standardized use of optical fiber and cable communication technology can be achieved,it will certainly improve the speed of information transmission in an all-round way and lay a good foundation for the development of China’s communication industry.Based on this,the advantages of fiber optic cable communication technology are analyzed first,then the implementation points of fiber optic access network of fiber optic cable communication technology in modern communication engineering are analyzed,and finally the application field and development direction of this technology in communication engineering are briefly discussed.
