An evaluation model for translation of TCM terms based on metaphor cognition

在回顾中医术语翻译研究时,发现指导中医术语翻译的主流理论偏离了中医语言和中医认知的实际,不利于中医在其他文化语境中的认知建构和接受。而中医语言和认知实际是以隐喻为内核、表现为取象比类的构词和认知方式。因此,有必要基于隐喻的语义生成和理解机制,为中医术语的翻译建构评价模型、为中医术语的翻译评价提供可量化的指标,以期为今后进一步探讨中医术语翻译的策略、原则和方法提供参考。

In reviewing the studies on the translation of Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)terms,it is discovered that the mainstream theories guiding the translation of TCM terms have deviated from the reality of TCM language and TCM cognition,which is not conducive to the cognitive construction and acceptance of TCM in other cultural contexts.The language and cognition of TCM is based on metaphor and manifested as analogism in terms of word formation and cognitive approach.Therefore,it is necessary to construct an evaluation model,providing quantifiable indicators for the translation evaluation of TCM terms based on the semantic generation and understanding mechanism of metaphor.It can provide a reference for further study on the strategies,principles and methods of TCM terms translation.
