喜马拉雅区域研究路径思考

Reflections on the research approach to Himalayan regional studies

在中国走向世界和“一带一路”倡议的引领下,区域研究受到国家重视,成为学界热点。与我国历史、地缘紧密相连,又作为连接“一带”与“一路”重要纽带的喜马拉雅区域研究,却未能受到应有重视。本文从重新界定研究范围、梳理学术史与建立数据库、跨学科合作形成学科分支、以族群研究为区域研究的突破口等方面,探寻喜马拉雅区域研究路径,认为应借助我国在喜马拉雅区域研究固有的优势和成果积累,逐步形成一个既能与西方学界交流、对话、论争,又与其研究目的有本质区别的中国特色喜马拉雅区域研究体系。

Under the guidance of China’s going global and “the Belt and Road Initiative”, regional research has been taken seriously at a national level and has become a hot issue in the academic field. However, few efforts have been made in the regional research of Himalayan, which was closely related to China geographically and historically, and is now crucial in bridging the “Belt” and the “Road”. In this paper, a research approach concerning the Himalayan region is proposed in terms of redefining the study scope, referring to the field history, highlighting the building of database, forming branch disciplines in different domains, and focusing on ethnic studies as an accessible aspect in regional research. It argues that with the help of the inherent advantages and accumulating achievements in this field at home, a Himalayan regional research system with Chinese characteristics will be gradually formed, which can guarantee effective communications, dialogues and debates with the western academia, but is meanwhile fundamentally distinct from it in research purpose.
