The acting in Chinese films in the 1930s continued to break through in the acting traditions brought by Opera and Civilized Drama, inheriting the genes of theatrical acting on the one hand, and striving to seek the vitality of screen acting on the other hand, gradually changing from funny and exaggerated to naturalized and life-oriented.Sun Yu's cinematic approach allows the acting in his silent films to be close to the actors themselves, and a series of screen images of"ideal characters"called by him were created. This kind of char-acter has tenacious vitality, optimism and resistance,so this paper explores how his film shapes the"ideal characters"in the process of unifying actors and characters through three dimensions:natural and toned body display, the repetition of subtle expressions and movements, and coherent acting in the compilation.
