新闻传播学界已有大量成果探究数字媒介与情感、情感与公共舆论等问题,推进了对情感问题的理解,但这些成果多是在经验研究的层面展开的,如何对传播中的情感现象进行价值判断,则需要我们从政治哲学的规范理论中寻找标准。克劳斯的《公民的激情》是一本政治哲学著作,该书探讨道德情感在个体判断、集体商议、法律等方面的意义,有助于理解当代中国社会的情感文化、群体隔阂、社交媒介上的公共讨论等许多问题,可以为反思上述现象提供思想资源。
