Objective To study the effect of multidisciplinary team( MDT) management model in the diagnosis and treatment of hip fracture in the elderly. Methods From September 2019 to September 2020, 153 elderly patients with hip fracture were treated in our hospital;among them, 87 patients were listed in the traditional group. From October 2020 to October 2021, MDT management was applied for 167 elderly patients with hip fractures;among them, 85 patients were listed in the MDT group. The average waiting time before operation, length of stay, incidence of postoperative complications and hospitalization cost were compared between the two groups. Results The mean preoperative waiting time and average hospital stay in MDT group were significantly lower than those in traditional group( P < 0.05). The total complication rate of MDT group was lower than that of traditional group( P < 0.05). The average hospital expenditure of MDT group was lower than that of traditional group( P < 0.05). Conclusions MDT management model can shorten the waiting time and average length of stay before operation and reduce the overall incidence of complications after hospitalization and expenditure, so as to achieve the effect of rapid rehabilitation.
