The characteristics of pipe fittings for oil and gas pipelines and their important role in pipeline systems is introduced.The 5M1E method of quality management is used to analyze the problems existing in the manufacturing process of domestic pipe fitting enterprises.It is pointed out that the key factors that affect the quality characteristics of pipe fitting products mainly include pipe fitting raw materials,heat treatment process,outsourcing and appearance dimensions,etc.Based on the statistical analysis of various problems of pipe fittings,combined with the results of 5M1E analysis,reasonable suggestions on strengthening the quality improvement of pipe fittings are proposed for the design,procurement,manufacturing and other links.It is helpful to improve the overall understanding on pipe fitting production of purchasers,manufacturers and the third parties.
