Water conservancy engineering is a fundamental project for the benefit of the country and the people,and plays a pivotal role in the development of agriculture in China.It makes an important contribution to people's safety and economic development.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the skills and characteristics of English translation for water conservancy projects,so that translators can help China's water conservancy projects achieve better development.Based on the analysis of linguistic characteristics,the translation of English for water conservancy projects is studied in conjunction with Naida's functional equivalence theory.
