The history of translation in Hebei Province is a history of academic development as well as a history of social and cultural exchanges,which has promoted the development of various undertakings in social,economic,and cultural fields,making great contributions to Chinese cultural exchanges with foreign countries.In chronological order,this review systematically sorts out the prominent achievements and outstanding contributions of translators in Hebei Province from the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the founding of the People's Republic of China,which reveals the translation activities and characteristics of different period,and summarizes the historical significance and influence of translation work in Hebei Province.The development of translation work in Hebei Province is inseparable from the study of the history of translation development.Only by taking history as a mirror can translators explore the universal laws in the translation process and promote the innovation of translation theories and the development of translation practices.
