绍兴文化词汇英译方法探究——基于来华留学生文化认同的视角

On the Methods of Translating Shaoxing Culture Words into English:From the Cultural Identity of International Students

地方文化以其丰富的物质和精神内涵成为中华文化对外传播的重要载体之一,目的语受众对译本文化的认同直接影响翻译目标的实现。本文以当前来华留学生的文化认同为研究视角,选取具有绍兴特色的文化词汇为研究对象,分析地方文化翻译中存在的问题。译者应基于中国文化的立场,“以我为主”,根据语境灵活采用不同的英译方法,从而使得来华留学生在文化认同的基础上更有效地理解和传播中华文化。

Local culture is one of the important carriers of Chinese culture for its rich material and spiritual connotations.The realization of translation goal is directly decided by the cultural identity of target readers.Selecting several representative Shaoxing culture words,the present paper analyzes the existing problems in the translation of local culture from the perspective of cultural identity of international students.Translators should adopt appropriate translation methods based on the context as well as Chinese culture,so as to enable international students to understand and spread Chinese culture effectively.
