Modernization of traditional Chinese medicine is the inevitable way to integrate it into modern society.Although the research on modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)has achieved considerable results in recent years,it still seems to be hovering at the doorstep of TCM system,no substantial progress has been made.The search for the causes of problems often requires philosophical reflection that breaks through old ideas.Modernization of TCM is a part of China's modernization,and with Li Zehou's reflections on the substance and function in the course of China's modernization,it is helpful to understand the problems encountered in the process of TCM modernization.It becomes clearer that the development of modern TCM should take modernization as substance,and the substance should be better integrated with TCM practice.Through the modernization of TCM,the evolution of the entire human medical system has gained new possibilities.
