The 2060 carbon neutrality target is an important driving force for green and low-carbon transformation of the economy and sustainable development,as well as a dual goal of balancing economic growth and carbon reduction.With the proposal of carbon neutrality targets,low-carbon concepts have been fully integrated into the development of the economy and society.Carbon finance has become one of the important means to promote the development of a lowcarbon economy and achieve carbon neutrality targets.Commercial banks play a crucial role in the financial system,undertaking important responsibilities such as stabilizing the country’s macroeconomic operation,supporting economic growth,and controlling financial risks.The operational performance of commercial banks directly affects the stability and development of the financial system.Therefore,under the carbon neutrality target,the participation of commercial banks in carbon finance business is not only a manifestation of social responsibility but also a key to improving operational performance.This article analyzes the impact of carbon finance on the operational performance of commercial banks from aspects such as financial condition,operational efficiency,and risk management,and explores the challenges and opportunities faced by commercial banks in participating in carbon finance.At the same time,in order to promote the development of a low-carbon transformation of the economy,this article provides countermeasures for commercial banks to promote carbon finance business from aspects such as strengthening internal talent training,establishing cooperation mechanisms,developing carbon finance products,and establishing a sound carbon finance business risk management system,in order for references.
