作为现代学科建制的美育,是我国现代性发生发展过程中不可忽视的一门现代学科。有清晰美育学者身份的杜卫出版的《美育学》是其美育研究的集大成式成果。由于其自觉的美育学意识、自觉的“中国现代性”美育意识和自觉的学校美育意识,使得美育越来越成为一门现代学科。杜卫《美育学》对于美育专业化建设、美育的社会功能发挥以及现代自我的审美教育等,都有不可忽视的价值。然而,在美育越来越成为现代学科之时,也要警惕其学科化之弊,同时还要更为合理地理解“中国美育学”。
